Grocery business amid Covid-19

As we people have observed that after the lockdown announced by govonernment. The demand for online groceries surges. After that the applications of online grocery delivery business crashed. They were not able to handle the crowd.

As they were not planned for this, thier business saw a huge demand and even they were not having adequate staffs to meet the demand amid this lockdown. Huge number of orders were cancelled by grofers and bigbasket. According to a study grofers is only able to serve 1 out of its 8 customers.

Also this became a huge opportunity for online grocers to raise funds to boost thier delivery base. Swiggy and Zomato both raises funds to boost thier delivery base.

Amazon also boost funding to its pantry business.

We are seeing every startup is trying to deliver grocery amid this lockdown. ShopClues, box8, netmeds, meesho etc.

Started delivering grocery. bigbasket is planning to hire 10000staff to handle this situation and also grofers is planning to hire 5000.
